Fifteen years on the same two streets

Playnest started in 2011 as a twelve-person sewing workshop in Beilun, Ningbo. Today we operate two production sites, an in-house design studio and a compliance lab — still run by the same two families.

We build toys for people who have to answer to a buyer, a customs officer and a customer service inbox.

How the capacity was built

Each step was paid for by a customer programme, not by an investor round. That is why we still answer emails ourselves.

How we decide

Three rules we do not break

No subcontracting the sewing. If we take the order, our own floor makes it — which is why we decline orders we cannot hold for four months.
No unverified test reports. Every report carries a lab reference number you can call and check.
No surprise line items. Tooling, sampling, testing and inland freight are quoted before the PO, not invoiced after.
